Our new 12 ½" Bench top Planer with Helical Style Cutterhead features a powerful 2HP and a 6 row helical cutterhead with 24 indexable cutters giving you power and superior finish you would expect from a stationary machine. Designed to manage larger, deeper cuts in wood, the helical style cutterhead is quieter and delivers a smoother finish compared to straight knife planers which will reduce your sanding time. This unit comes equipped with a cut depth indicator that automatically measures the depth of cut for each pass you take up to 1/8" and features built in dust collection with dual ports at 2-1/2" & 4" for easy hook up to a shop vac or dust collector.
The cutterhead raises and lowers on a 4 column precision ground carriage system which drastically reduces snipe. The convenient side carry handles allow for ease of portability and blade changes on this machine are simple and super fast. Chip an insert cutter? Simply unscrew the indexable cutter and rotate to get a fresh new cutting edge. Say goodbye to cumbersome and time consuming blade changes with traditional straight knife planers.

Fantastic deal, good quality
Great planer so far. Haven't used it extensively, but it handles everything I feed into it and wood comes out super clean. Seems to have a very decent amount of power. The rpm only dropped a little bit when planing the entire 12.5inch capacity with a hardwood board. This planer is also surprisingly quiet. This is definitely because of the helical cutterhead, as it makes far less noise than any knife planer I've ever used. Only issue I've had was needing to adjust the folding tables to be perfectly flat, but that's the case with any portable planer you buy. Extremely happy with the purchase. Was on sale when i bought it too!

Great deal
Bought this at the Toronto wood show for $479. Compared it to the rigid at HD and to the king version that was also at the show. This was by the better deal. Busy bee said it's been flying off the shelf since it came in. Ended up taking it home and so far its great. It's packaged very well and you can tell it's not a cheapie. Has cut great right from the first pass and I love the depth adjustment right at the front, ive seen others that havfe it on the side, but the front is much better for visibility. Happy so far and I think I'll upgrade to the carbide cutters down the line when I need to eventually buy some.

Great buy
This is an excellent machine and what a great price! Been using mainly cherry and walnut the past two weeks on separate projects and have had fantastic results. I picked up the carbide replacement cutters when i got the planer but dont think ill need them for a while. Good job Busy bee, this is a real winner
