Poor build quality
The belt alignment and motor seem to work fine but the general build quality is poor. Required some time with a hammer to bash one of the right side table support to being close to square so the tube would even fit in it.

An adequate machine
This machine performs well enough and possesses adequate power. The tables won't win any awards for strength and the dust port is 2 inches making connection dubious. Removing the dust port or changing belts is time consuming at best. I have bought belts for this machine at Busy Bee, Lowes, Lee Valley and Home Depot and all of them have been too long. Only the "Maximum" belts from Canadian Tire are the proper length. Stay away until it's on sale at $200, or its just not worth it.

Good machine not well thought out.
After getting this machine to replace a larger machine.(downsizing) I found a few areas it could be improved. The dust collecting was a lot to be desired. The dust hood was so close to the belt the dust couldn't get in! The aluminum tables arE not good quality and have been replaced with a larger plywood and laminate. A new dust hood was made with a 4" outlet. Glued a pad of graphite to the metal plate .Runs smoother an quieter. Now it's ready to go. Overall a nice little machine.

Solid unit
This sander is more powerful than I would have imagined. Its performed very well since I picked it up and its now been about 5 months. Belts are relatively inexpenisve and they have worked well as well. Manual wasnt the greatest but overall the machine is solid and has ben a good addition to my shop

Nice sander
Got this little sander for small detail work and have been quite happy with it overall. Out of the box, the tables lined up, everything was square and this sander has adequate power for everything I have thrown at it so far. Have used it mainly for metal sanding and some wood. Overall the construction is solid and a good sander for the price.

slightly dissapointed..
I have purchased a number of Craftex branded tools over the past several years. Generally I am quite happy. I ordered this small edge sander mainly to work on small metal pieces, and didnt expect perfection - however it is below my expectations, even at the sale price. The steel stampings are rough, welds are rough and the two tables are very poorly made. If I could have looked at the sander before buying (I mail order) I wouldnt have bought it for 1/2 the price. I think there are better sanders out there in this price point. That being said, I made a new table for it from 3/4 PB with laminate on both sides, and that should make it at least useable. The belt tracking is fine, and the motor appears to have enough power. It is just the overall quality that is poor in my opinion.
