6" x 89" Oscillating Edge Belt Sander - Craftex CX-Series
This oscillating edge belt sander will make a fantastic addition to your shop. Featuring a powerful 1 1/2HP, this production sander has an auxiliary table, used when sanding round or curved work-piece and for the optimum dust removal the sander has a 4" dust hood. The sanding head can be adjusted to any angle between 90° and 180° and the work table height can be adjusted to different heights which allows using different portions of the sanding belt surface while sanding and resulting in even wearing of the sanding belt. The sander is mounted onto a cabinet stand which provides extra storage for tools and sanding belts.
Other features include fully adjustable belt and tension tracking, motor drum guard, a 23-1/2" x 6-1/8" fence, ON/OFF switch with safety pin and a mitre gauge.
Like all CX-Series machines, this unit features powder coated paint, sharp looking two tone colours and a full 3 year warranty.

Not bad but not great
This sander is probably the same as countless other similarly designed sanders. The finish is good and it comes with a lot of the accessories one might need/want with the sander. While the machine itself runs smooth, the included sanding belt (100G Klingspor) is terrible in that it suffers from the annoying "clicking" every time the seam runs over the workpiece. This makes is annoyingly difficult to sand really smooth curves. Replacing the belt with a better one addressed this issue. The table elevation mechanism is awkward, requiring you to loosen two star knobs and crudely lift the table. There is no provision for squaring up the table to the platen either. Replacing the belt isn't too hard but the guard removal is a tad awkward with the dust collector manifold getting in the way during removal. Nevertheless, the machine runs smoothly and has otherwise performed its tasks admirably. Adjustment for belt tracking is easy to do. Cast iron table is nice and flat and well-finished. The cheap mitre gauge stop has proven to be surprisingly useful as is. Overall value of the machine is good and the storage in the base is nice to have.
